Contemporary? Classic? Crunchy? Urban? Shabby-chic? Just shabby?

How about over-worked and stressed out?! I hear ya! We’ll peel those layers of stress off ya during the shoot as you relax and just enjoy being with your family. If you love your body, show it! If you want to be comfy in blue jeans, hey — works for us. We only ask that you wear something that you’ll be happy with now and a while from now. It’s no fun looking back and thinking “what was I thinking??”
Families should keep in mind where the images will be displayed in the house. And if shorts and T-shirts works on the dining room wall, then that’s great! But we do discourage “matching” outfits. White shirts/khakis or jeans. Been there. Let’s not do that. Colors are great. Pick your best hue, but again, keep in mind where the images will display for the best mix with the house. Our last peeve is… logos. Those companies make enough money. Let’s not advertise them. Let’s celebrate you, not a brand.
For kids of all ages (including husbands) — talk about it in advance and give them options. If it’s really hot, lose the overshirt look, and consider shorts instead of jeans. If they have a favorite top/shirt/skirt, make sure it’s back from the cleaners.
The important thing to remember talk about it in advance, and give them options. Everyone has a bad hairday. That’s what scrunchies are for. Go with it.
Same goes for couples — try to match each other’s level of “dressy-ness” without trying to “coordinate” too much. Figure out a good combo, bring options, and have fun! If we’re going metro, then to the beach, bring a shoulder bag with a change of clothes, hairbrush, scrunchies, etc., and maybe a change of shoes, from mules to espidrilles, from topsiders to sandals. Think options, but travel light — we’re carrying your bag!
